Search-and-Find: Saint Louis University
2021 Calendar illustrations
Gus Morais was invited by Saint Louis University graphic design team to create twelve
search-and-find illustrations for their new 2021 calendar. For each month, a special event in
search-and-find illustrations for their new 2021 calendar. For each month, a special event in
student's lives and an important campus location was depicted in a funny and detailed way.
JANUARY Lots of fun in the snow around Lipic Clock Tower plaza
In all illustrations, we presented 5 characters hiding in the crowd:
Billiken (the official SLU mascot), a graduate, a St. Ignatius statue, a

Pep Band member and, at last, the most hard to spot: a tiny squirrel :) .
FEBRUARY Students arriving in North Campus, along Grand Boulevard
MARCH Lots of fans celebrating in the Billiken Blizzard event, a traditional basketball match at Chaifetz Arena
Lots of easter eggs and
funny situations related to campus
life were depicted, in an effort to
evoke good memories from
SLU history to all students
and staff members.
APRIL Alumni Eastern Egg hunt in the North Campus Quad.
MAY Students celebrating in commencement ceremony around Chaifetz Arena
I've used lots of pictures, maps
and photographic references from
the university archive to create
my own precise and charming
versions for each location.
JUNE Students having fun at SLURUBA party in the pools near Simon Recreation Center
JULY Students enjoying rich campus life at Madrid Campus buildings in Spain.
These 12
illustrations were
developed through
6 months of work
during 2020.
AUGUST Students move-in at Griesedieck and Grand Halls
SEPTEMBER Traditional soccer match during homecoming and family weekend at Hermann Stadium
During illustration
process, we were very careful to depict the
most important details for each season: in
each month illustration, you can observe the
climate changes and specific animals and
flora that usually appear at that time.
OCTOBER Medicine and nursery students and university staff enjoying campus life at SLU South Campus, along Grand Boulevard.
NOVEMBER Students creating projects, preparing for exams, studying and researching tech innovations inside PIUS XII Memorial Library
DECEMBER Traditional Christmas celebration in North Campus Quad. Can you spot the SLU Blue Santa Claus?
